Did you know that you can get all of the Charter channels you currently subscribe to without paying for another cable box? All you need is four things: Charter Internet, A Charter TV plan, a router that is worthy of streaming Netflix, and a Roku Device.
If you don’t know, Roku is a device that you can plug into your current television that gives you access to apps like Netflix, Hulu and the Spectrum app. You can buy a Roku device locally at Walmart or Meijer; they run anywhere from $30-$70. For most of you, the $30 model will fill your needs. They also make Roku Televisions. If you are lucky enough to own one of these, you can download the app now. The Spectrum app is also available on Xbox One or any newer Samsung television.
Once you set up your Roku device, the Spectrum app is usually one of the default apps it downloads. If you don’t see it, you can download it for free from the Roku app store. Then, all you need to do is start the app, and log in using your Charter Spectrum online credentials. After that, you will have access to all of the channels that you subscribe to, without a cable box. Charter gives you the app for free, on as many Roku devices that you own, as long as you have one paid cable box in your house. This works great for the rooms that you need TV only when you have guests. It beats paying $6 a month for a box that only gets used once or twice a year.
If you’re a cord cutter, Charter has recently launched a new streaming plan. They give you their 100mbs internet and access to the charter app for a low rate. Depending on the channels you need, you can get set up for around $75 a month.
