This magical unicorn glitter butter recipe is perfect for parties and summer festivals! Scented with a sweet candy crush fragrance oil, this lavender colored unicorn glitter butter leaves a lovely layer of iridescent sparkly glitter on skin wherever it’s applied!
Magical Unicorn Glitter Butter
Everyone once in awhile by a sheer stroke of luck, I think, I come up with a skin care recipe that I’m just head over heels for. It’s kind of like, well… magic! My new unicorn glitter butter recipe is one of those magical recipes. Not only does it feel and smell amazing, but you will sparkle will like mad whenever you wear it! I hope you enjoy my new unicorn glitter butter recipe as I much as I do.
Unicorn Glitter Butter Recipe

Ingredients:
1 oz. refined shea butter
1 oz. fractionated coconut oil
1 oz. sweet almond oil
.25 oz. vegetable glycerin
.25 oz. kokum butter
.25 oz. cera bellina wax
.05 oz. candelilla wax
.10 oz. candy crush fragrance oil
.5 oz. iridescent super sparkle glitter
.1 oz. super pearly white mica
1/4 teaspoon colloidal oatmeal
1/4 teaspoon rose pearl mica
1/4 teaspoon mauvey gem mica
1 mL vitamin E oil
Instructions:
Using a digital scale, weigh out the shea butter, kokum butter, cera bellina wax and the candelilla wax. Heat until melted in a double boiler (or in a glass Pyrex measuring cup at 40% power in the microwave) until melted. Remove from heat.
Weigh out the fractionated coconut oil, glycerin, and sweet almond oil. Stir into the previously melted ingredients.
Next, weigh out the fragrance and stir in. Follow with the vitamin E oil (optional) using a graduated transfer pipette to measure out the amount called for.
Now, using a teaspoon measure, measure out the colloidal oatmeal and the rose pear and mauvey gem micas. (You can substitute these colors for ones of your own if desired. These micas give my unicorn glitter butter the pretty purple tint, but won’t color skin.) Stir into the unicorn glitter butter base.
Finally weigh out the super pearly white mica and the iridescent super sparkle glitter and stir into the unicorn glitter butter.
Allow the butter to cool and thicken. Once it starts to thicken, remix the unicorn glitter butter with a fork or other utensil until the mica and glitter that have settled to the bottom are evenly incorporated throughout the product.
Once your unicorn glitter butter has completely thickened – this may take several hours to overnight – spoon the mixture evenly into two 1 oz. double walled jars.
Then screw the lids onto your jars and label as desired for personal use or gifting. I created my labels for my unicorn glitter butter using this magical unicorn clipart I purchased from Kenna Sato Designs.
Notes on Making Glitter Body Butter
I don’t recommend substitutions for this recipe other than a color swap for the rose pearl and mauvey gem micas and the fragrance oil. The ingredients are kind of all perfectly balanced together based on their properties. It’s what gives this unicorn glitter butter its great creamy texture and keeps the glitter adhered to your skin.
This can be used anywhere on your body to add some shimmer and shine! However, this product is not recommended for eyes due to the glitter content. (Currently the FDA does not approve any glitters for use on eyes in the United States.)
If you’d like to be able to use my unicorn glitter butter on your lips as well as your body, you’ll need to swap out the mauvey gem mica for a lip safe mica and either omit the fragrance oil or use a lip safe fragrance oil.
