A prepaid AKC DNA Kit costs $50 (per dog). Previously, $50 non-prepaid DNA kits were also offered by AKC, but these kits will be phased out beginning in 2021.
Don’t forget to activate your kit on the DNA Online Portal prior to mailing your sample directly to the AKC DNA Program’s service provider.
If you do not have access to the internet to activate your kit, please contact AKC DNA at 919-816-3508 for further instructions on how submit your sample.
The current non-barcoded AKC DNA Kits (both prepaid and regular $50 kits) are being phased out. These “legacy” AKC DNA Kits will still be accepted for processing. The original procedure of mailing the sample, payment and completed forms directly to AKC DNA Operations will still be required for processing these old-style, non-barcoded kits.
